Superbonus, Tajani freezes on Giorgetti: “We were not consulted”

Tajani's icy comment on the superbonus ("An individual decision by Giorgetti") raises talk of a "split majority"

ROME – Remote clash between the Minister of Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, on the super bonus. The subject of the dispute is the Mef’s decision on the fact that the credits will be spread over 10 years instead of four as was initially announced. Tajani’s comment was glacial: “It was Giorgetti’s individual decision– he said- we were not consulted“, said Tajani. For his part, Giorgetti had peremptorily said that it was a move to protect the country: “I have a responsibility and I defend Italy’s interests as finance minister. Is that clear?”, he said. And, given the distant back and forth, there are those who already welcome Tajani to the opposition, speaking of a “split majority”.

BOCCIA TAJANI: “WELCOME TO THE OPPOSITION, MAJORITY YES ROCK”

“Today we learn that an authoritative member of the government, none other than the deputy prime minister Antonio Tajani, has ‘doubts about the retroactivity of the latest proposal from the Minister of Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti’. We welcome Tajani and Fi among those who think that the Government’s proposals regarding super bonuses are wrong and harmful for many companies and families. And the mandatory credit spread for 10 years is a choice which, from an opportunity for some, can turn into a fatal blow for many companies in the construction sector”. Thus the president of the senators of the Democratic Party, Francesco Boccia.

“After telling lies about the explosion of Superbonus spending, culpably fueled by the Meloni Government in the 18 months of his Government, today we are at divisions in the majority where they are perhaps realizing the Giorgettian aberrations – continues Boccia – We are very ready to welcome among the opposition ranks the Foreign Minister and his party who are perhaps realizing that the Meloni Government is totally incapable of responding to the country’s economic emergencies”.

MAZZETTI (FI): “TAJANI IS WELL, BUILDING COMPANIES ALREADY IN DIFFICULTY”

“Naturally I join the perplexity expressed by our National Secretary and Vice Prime Minister Antonio Tajani on the hypothesis advanced in recent days of introducing retroactivity. As I have already said, we must find a solution that does not worsen the situation further strong>, already complex, of the construction chain. Forza Italia has always been on the side of responsible entrepreneurs and professionals. Parliament, with the relevant commissions, is working on a solution capable of resolving the double problem that has arisen create fixed credits and enormous burdens for the public coffers, also trying to correct certain distortions in relations with the banking system, especially in terms of interests. I am sure that the government majority will find a pragmatic solution in order to safeguard the public accounts and accompany the closing of the superbonus phase without further shocks, especially in the compensation of tax credits for those who, in good faith, followed a state law”. Erica Mazzetti, Forza Italia MP and national head of FI’s public works department, declared this in a note.
