Superbonus, an additional member (majority-saving) added to the Finance Commission. Pd-M5s: “Unprecedented forcing”

Patuanelli and Lorenzin denounce the change from 19 to 20 members in the composition of the Senate Finance Commission: it is an operation carried out "to avoid letting the majority go below"

ROME – The Senate Finance Commission goes from 19 to 20 members. This was communicated by the members of the commission and opposition senators Stefano Patuanelli (M5s) and Beatrice Lorenzin (Pd). An operation, according to the two senators, “implemented to avoid the majority going under“, at the time of the vote in the commission on the Superbonus bill. In fact, the sub-amendments to the legislative decree should soon be voted on, which provide for the retroactivity of the-tax-that-exists-but-doesn’t-exist-will-be-postponed-to-2025/”>it spreads credits over 10 months, and the sugar tax comes into force in July this year . Measures that meet the clear opposition from Forza Italia , which has already announced its vote against in the event of no changes.

It is a faculty of the president of the Senate – explains Patuanelli – but for reasons different from this. It can happen, for example, when a member of the commission belonging to the majority moves to the opposition to re-establish the initial balance. But not when – as in this case – it is the majority itself that goes down due to internal divisions. And in any case the measure should be communicated first in the Chamber“.

“What we are witnessing therefore – adds the M5s group leader – is clearly a stretch. Both political and regulatory”.
Meanwhile, the Mef’s opinions on the sub-amendments have not yet arrived. Which is why they are slow to resume work in the commission. In the meantime, a meeting is underway between the Minister for Relations with Parliament Luca Ciriani, the commission president Massimo Garavaglia and the Fi group leader at Palazzo Madama, Maurizio Gasparri.
