Strega Giovani Award 2024, Donatella Di Pietrantonio wins
The book, with 138 preferences, was the most voted by a jury of girls and boys aged between 16 and 18
ROME – Donatella Di Pietrantonio, with the novel L’età fragili (Einaudi), is the winner of the eleventh edition of the Premio Strega Giovani promoted by the Maria Foundation and Goffredo Bellonci and Strega Alberti Benevento. The book, with 138 preferences out of a total of 605, was the most voted by a jury of girls and boys aged between 16 and 18 from 103 upper secondary schools distributed in Italy and abroad . On the podium, second and third place went to Antonella Lattanzi, author of Things that are not told(Einaudi), with 72 votes, and Chiara Valerio< /strong>, author of Who says and who is silent(Sellerio), with 67 votes. The three books receive a valid vote for the designation of finalists for the Strega Prize.
The awards event, hosted by Loredana Lipperini, took place today at the Teatro di Tor Bella Monaca. Participating with Nicola Franco, President of the VI Municipality, and Filippo D’Alessio, Director of the Teatro di Tor Bella Monaca, Giovanni Solimine and Stefano Petrocchi, respectively President and Director of the Maria and Goffredo Bellonci Foundation, and Giuseppe D’Avino, President of Strega Alberti Benevento.
WITCH AWARD FOR THE BEST REVIEW
During the event, the Strega Giovani Award for the best review, awarded to Federica Pitone of the Liceo Scientifico Statale Zaleuco di Locri (RC), and the Premio Leggiamoci – Fiction for Future 2024, the competition born on the Leggiamoci.it platform in which upper secondary school students aged 13 to 19 can share their passion for reading and writing.
