Stop cannabis light, the government’s amendment to the Security bill

The executive presented an amendment to the Security bill

ROME – Stop light cannabis. This is proposed by a government amendment to the Security bill under consideration in the House commission. The executive asks for action on the law to support the hemp supply chain for industrial use, with quantities of THC (the active ingredient of the plant) lower than 0.2%.

The amendment prohibits the cultivation and sale of inflorescences, including cannabis with a low THC content, for uses other than those expressly indicated in the law itself, i.e. permitted industrial ones. The trade or transfer of inflorescences is punished with the provisions of the Consolidated Law on Narcotic Substances, equating light cannabis to non-light cannabis.
