Scurati case, CEO Sergio’s attack against Serena Bortone: “She should have been fired”

The presenter had expressed strong disappointment on social media at the cancellation of the writer Antonio Scurati's monologue for April 25th

ROME – “Serena Bortone should have been fired for what she did“. At the Foglio Innovation party in Venice, the CEO of Rai Roberto Sergio lashes out against Serena Bortone, host of ‘Chesarà’. The case dates back to April when Bortone on Facebook expressed strong disappointment at having learned ‘with dismay, and by pure chance’, that the participation of the writer Antonio Scurati in the April 25th episode of the show , had been cancelled. Sergio says: “On the 11th of this month he will present his theses and we will evaluate, but certainly no employee of any company would be allowed to say things against the company he works for. She did this and she was not punished“.

And the Rai CEO underlines: “I believe that some people have an extraordinary ability to overturn the truthand to become victims at the same time and then heroes of the country and of the system. I sent a WhatsApp to Serena Bortone where I invited her to broadcast Scurati’s monologue. Nobody would have prevented that monologue, it also said ‘free guest‘”. To get out of the media impasse, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had published Scurati’s monologue on her social media for April 25, a monologue that was ultimately never broadcast.
