ROME – A viral retirement party on social media and with almost 800 thousand views on TikTok alone. The protagonist is a principal of the Cristoforo Colombo Institute in the Rione Monti, in Rome. The head teacher Maria Chiara Gallerani was the lucky protagonist of the surprise that all her students wanted to give her. Upon leaving her office she was greeted by confetti and the applause of all the students who lined the corridors of the Institute to thank her. “Thank you, Principal… Unica… The Students of Colombo”, reads the caption to the video posted on the school’s social networks.

“I’ve never seen a principal hugging a boy”, is one of the many comments on social media. And also: “This makes us understand how much responsibility we adults have towards young people, leaving a good memory is certainly an indication of healthy behavior towards them”.
