Roland Garros, good Musetti but Djokovic wins: the blue beaten 3-2

The Italian tennis player's run stops in the third round, and no favors for Sinner

ROME – Lorenzo Musetti’s journey at Roland Garros stopped in the third round. Nothing to do for the Italian tennis player in front of Novak Djokovic, who however only beat him in the fifth set 7-5, 6-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-0. Musetti fought, came back and dreamed of the feat but then had to give up after 4 and a half hours. The possible favor for Sinner has therefore vanished, and he will now continue his journey alone towards the scepter of world number 1, to be wrested from Djokovic himself. In the women’s competition, however, Jasmine Paolini beat Canadian Bianca Andreescu in three sets (6-1, 3-6, 6-0), also qualifying (after Elisabetta Cocciaretto) for the round of 16. This is the second time for the Italian in a Slam (she had already achieved it in Melbourne). She will now face the Russian Elina Avanesjan.
