“We must promote conscious and responsible digital citizenship, encouraging education and awareness about the risks that can be encountered online. Young people today are the protagonists of an era characterized by rapid technological development, which has profoundly transformed the way we live, interact and relate. The Internet and digital technologies have opened new frontiers, but have also brought new forms of inequality and vulnerability. We must work together to ensure that fundamental human rights, such as the right to privacy, freedom of expression and security, are also protected in the digital environment. Because at the center there is always and first of all the person and their dignity”, states the president of the Capitoline Assembly Svetlana Celli.
“I am very proud to have organized this day together with President Celli which saw the participation of 14 schools and over 400 children. In an era dominated by technology, information security education is a priority. As institutions we must raise awareness among young people and families of the problems and risks associated with the use of the Internet: cyberbullying, digital scams, up to revenge porn and child pornography. We aim to reach young people and very young people of all ages with this knowledge. Rome Capital and the metropolitan city will take action to support schools in this awareness-raising action. Thanks to Prefect Giannini for his precious collaboration on such a sensitive issue. However, we want to transform risks into new opportunities, including professional ones, and for this reason, as a Metropolitan City, with input from Mayor Gualtieri. we have entered into an agreement with Leonardo spa to launch laboratories with the technologies necessary for children to study as cyber security operators and then be inserted into the working world” says Daniele Parrucci, Capitoline councilor and mayor’s delegate for City Training Policies Subway.
