“Prof, I’m Alessandro”, policeman saves his former teacher from suicide

The woman was locked in the house and threatened to take her own life

ROME – “Professor, I’m Alessandro. Do you remember me? I was your student for many years”. It was these phrases that dissuaded a professor from Rome from carrying out a possible suicide attempt that had been reported to the police shortly before. They were uttered by an agent from the Exposure District who immediately gained the teacher’s trust and bought time for the firefighters who intervened on site.

MEMORIES OF THE OLD TIMES

The woman was locked in the house and threatened to take her own life. The recognition of the teacher’s voice was decisive, as stated in a statement from the police headquarters: “The policeman, who intervened with his colleague to report a possible suicide attempt, heard the voice of his former teacher through the door and, after making himself known, started talking to her about old times“.

So “the precious minutes, spent recounting some anecdotes from the years spent at school, allowed the other rescuers to reach the apartment through a window >”.

Once the door was opened, student and teacher hugged.
