Pornography lands on X/Twitter: explicit adult content allowed

Elon Musk's platform changes its policy on pornographic content

ROME – X (Twitter) has announced openness to pornography. In a recent update of the guidelines, Elon Musk’s platform explained that it will now be possible to “share nudity or sexual behavior of adults produced and distributed consensually”, with the only condition that this content “is appropriately labeled and not highlighted”.

THE NEW GUIDELINES OF X ON PORNOGRAPHY

“We believe that users should be able to create, distribute and consume material relating to sexual themesas long as it is produced and distributed consensually”, reads the X guidelines. “L Sexual expression, whether visual or written, can be a legitimate form of artistic expression. We believe in the autonomy of adults to create content that reflects their own beliefs, desires and experiences, including related ones. to sexuality”.

However, “content that promotes exploitation, lack of consent, objectification, sexualization, child pornography and obscene behavior” is not authorised. Furthermore, sharing adult content “in highly visible places such as profile photos or banners” is not permitted.

WHAT ARE THE CONTENTS ALLOWED?

Examples include depictions of “total or partial nudity, including close-ups of genitals, buttocks, or breasts; explicit or implied sexual behavior, or simulated acts such as sexual intercourse and other sexual acts”.
