Pnrr, Mur: “For the first time doctoral scholarships also for Afam”

ROME – The last tranche of Pnrr resources destined for doctoral scholarships is underway with an expansion of the number of beneficiaries. The novelty of this third allocation is in fact the extension of the measure to the institutions of higher artistic, musical and dance education (Afam). The Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini has in fact signed decrees 629 and 630 which define the methods of distribution of over 225 million for the academic year 2024/2025and the related procedure for course accreditation.
For the first time Conservatories, Academies and Isia will have the possibility to independently activate doctorates and be awarded 264 scholarships for innovative doctorates that respond to the innovation needs of companies and promote the hiring of researchers and 162 for innovative doctorates for public administration and cultural heritage.

We value higher artistic, musical and dance education even more. Conservatories, academies and ISIAs – explains the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini – will also benefit of innovative doctoral scholarships. I have always considered the Afam institutions as the third pillar of the Mur’s skills, like the university and research. Higher education is a key element with great educational value, but also with enormous economic potential , therefore investing in it through new doctorates represents a decisive element for the training system”.

In total, the allocation of scholarships for the year 2024/2025 is divided as follows: 56 scholarships for doctorates in programs dedicated to digital and environmental transitions; 275 PNRR PhD scholarships; 400 scholarships for doctorates for Public Administration; 48 PhD scholarships for cultural heritage; 2,868 scholarships for innovative doctorates with companies. Furthermore, the Mur contribution has been redetermined from 30,000 to 60,000 euros for each grant for innovative doctorates with companies, and from 60,000 to 70,000 euros for research doctorates, doctorates for public administration and cultural heritage and doctorates digital and green.
