BOLOGNA – A Ferrari worth over 300 thousand euroswas charredin Venice for reasons to be ascertained. In practice, the fireball, after catching fire, was reduced to ash within a few minutes. It happened on Monday 1 July in Mestre on the Rizzardi ramp, in front of the Fincantieri in Marghera: the car that was burned was a Ferrari 296 Gts, 830 horsepower. The driver, who noticed that something was wrong, fortunately got out of the car in time just before it caught fire. Fortunately there were no injuries. But the Ferrari was completely destroyed. At the time of the fire, the driver was taking part in the Tour of the Dolomites, a sporting event which saw 46 racing cars around the mountains: starting from Padua’s Lungobrenta, the Ferraris were headed to San Martino di Castrozza in the Dolomites. On Monday 1 July, the Ferrari that went abroad left Tronchetto.





After the alarm was raised, the Fire Brigade intervened on site with two vehicles: to put out the fire, under the eyes of passers-by and onlookers, they used the appropriate foam but by then the vehicle had been destroyed. Investigations are underway to reconstruct the causes of the fire. “The safety of our customers is our absolute priority and our cars adopt the most advanced safety systems and procedures. Following today’s accident, we are collaborating with the local authorities who are investigating the incident,” Ferrari told Milan Finance.
