The fire started in the kitchen, apparently starting from a chimney. Customers were let out as a precaution

PALERMO – Fear today in Palermo due to a fire at the Burger King in Viale Regione Siciliana, near the Via Belgio roundabout. Six teams of firefighters were involved in extinguishing the flames which affected the upper part of the roof of the kitchen, where there are systems serving the business. According to the first reconstructions, in fact, the fire started from the kitchen of the fast food restaurant, in particular from a chimney flue and then devoured the roof of the restaurant, where there are various installations. The firefighters contained the fire in this area, preventing the flames from reaching the internal rooms.

THE CUSTOMERS WERE MADE OUT

Burger King staff evacuated customerssafely before help arrived. The extinguishing operations ended around 3.30 pm, a team is still present on site to carry out the necessary checks. Police, 118 and AMG (municipal company that supplies the gas) were also present on site for checks.
