There is talk of manoeuvre, of the state property agency, of Malpensa, of Minister Calderone's words on income replacement measures

 MANEUVER. GIORGETTI: TEARS AND BLOOD WILL NOT BE NEEDED

The government is not thinking of a “blood and tears maneuver”. This was assured by the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti, who spoke at the assembly of the Italian Banking Association. For the minister, despite “an unstable and uncertain global context”, the Italian economy confirms “excellent stability”. And therefore “the exit from the high debt condition is an achievable objective”. The president of the ABI, Antonio Patuelli, highlights that “we need inclusive, sustainable banks, always with conspicuous liquidity and well capitalized”. Finally, for the governor of the Bank of Italy, Fabio Panetta, “the solidity of the banks today represents an element of strength in our production system and can contribute to the relaunch of the Italian economy”.

STATE PROPERTY AGENCY, ONE BILLION IN INVESTMENTS IN 2023

State properties as a tool for urban regeneration and territorial development to create economic, social, cultural and environmental value, in collaboration with central and local institutions and private investors. This is the vision of the State Property Agency, which manages and enhances 44 thousand properties worth 62.8 billion euros. In 2023 it launched interventions for one billion euros, between its own resources and those of other administrations, and achieved 70 million in savings in passive rentals (how much the PA pays to private individuals for the rental of offices not owned by the State), cuts costs which from 2027 will reach 147 million euros per year, contributing to the structural reduction of public spending.

MALPENSA NAMED AFTER BERLUSCONI, THE OPPOSITIONS AGAINST SALVINI

The controversy over the proposal to name Milan Malpensa airport after Silvio Berlusconi continues. The opposition is now asking for urgent information in Parliament from the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini. A “controversial and divisive choice”, thunders the Five Star Movement, for which Berlusconi remains “a man convicted of tax fraud who had a mafioso, Vittorio Mangano, among his employees”. The five-star deputies reject “the historical revisionism” of the center-right, fighting against “the beatification of Berlusconi”. The request is supported by the Pd and the Alleanza Verdi Sinistra. Forza Italia doesn’t agree and replies: “Then Salvini should also report on the fees evaded by Ilaria Salis”, for the illegal occupation of houses in Milan.

CALDERONE: “THE INCOME REPLACEMENT MEASURES WORK”

Almost 700 thousand applications relating to the Inclusion Allowance have been accepted as of 30 June 2024, for approximately 1 million and 700 thousand citizens. This was communicated by the INPS, in the first report of the Statistical Observatory on the new labor measures introduced by the Meloni government. As regards Job Training Support, 96,000 applications were accepted and the service was provided. “These are extremely interesting data, in line with the expected annual targets”, says the Minister of Labor, Marina Calderone. The interventions, he underlines, “are mostly concentrated in the South, and the region that has the largest number of checks is Campania. This means that the measures that replaced the citizen’s income are working, and even well”.
