Judicial earthquake in Liguria. The President of the Region Giovanni Toti was arrested on corruption charges and ended up under house arrest. With him also the former president of the Port Authority and current CEO of the energy giant Iren Paolo Emilio Signorini. At the center of the investigation into this alleged corruption system is Aldo Spinelli, a well-known port entrepreneur. According to the Genoa prosecutor’s office, the group had set up a system of favors in the form of bribes which effectively supported Toti’s political government. His chief of staff, who is under investigation, is also charged with aggravating mafia charges. The president of Liguria would have accepted the promises of various loans and received a total of 74 thousand euros. “He’s calm – says his lawyer – he can explain everything”.
Toti must resign. The opposition is on a war footing after the arrest of the president of the Liguria region. For Cinquestelle leader Giuseppe Conte the accusations are “serious. It is good that Toti draws the consequences to protect the institutions from a discredit that hurts everyone”, attacks the former prime minister. Even for the Green Left Alliance it is necessary to “go quickly” to the vote. The Ligurian Democratic Party demands that “Toti resign and there be new elections immediately”. Trust in the judiciary from Noi Moderati with Maurizio Lupi, certain that Toti “will be able to demonstrate his innocence”. For Forza Italia “talking about resignation now is profiteering”.

Three agreements on research, health and sport signed by ministers Bernini, Schillaci and Abodi. The life-size statue represents a woman breastfeeding with her breasts exposed. The statue, underlined the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa, “is dedicated to all women, mothers, and also to those who are not mothers, because they cannot or by choice, but who have all had a mother. And it is dedicated also to all the men who also all had a mother.” The work will remain in Palazzo Madama for a month.
