There is talk of anti-waiting list decree, Roberto Vannacci and Federmeccanica

HEALTH. FROM CDM GREECE TO DL ANTI WAITING LISTS

Green light from the Council of Ministers to the decree law for the reduction of waiting lists in healthcare facilities. “It is no longer acceptable that in many situations there are closed lists – explained the Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci in a press conference at Palazzo Chigi – Individual hospital companies or individual professionals must no longer perform intramurally a number of services greater than those carried out by the national health system. Tragically, some findings show that there are health facilities in which nine electrocardiograms are performed under NHS care and 90 intramurally”, the minister said. The provision provides that the Regions assign to the general directors of health companies some annual objectives on reducing expectations: in case of failure to achieve them, they can be suspended from the national list of directors for 12 months. There will also be room for specialists who will be called to reduce the waiting lists.

MELONS: “TOO MUCH MORBOSITY ABOUT MY PRIVATE LIFE”

“There is too much morbidity about my private life”. A few days before the European elections, Giorgia Meloni complains about the intrusiveness of the press towards her. “Every Saturday and Sunday I find crowds of photographers following me outside my house wherever I go – says the Prime Minister – it is not easy. I don’t want to live like in Big Brother.” Meloni then returns to the argument with Vincenzo De Luca. He defines him as a “bully who, behind your back, shows off, and when he then confronts you, he is no longer capable of doing so”. Words that lead straight to Elly Schlein: “I respect her – says Meloni – but she doesn’t have the courage to make the difference. She calls herself a champion of women, but she didn’t defend me.”

VANNACCI: I’M A TRUE CANDIDATE, IN EUROPE TO STAY THERE

A real candidate, not a “flagship candidate”. Roberto Vannacci claimed it during a meeting with the foreign press. Responding to questions from foreign correspondents in Rome, the general, who is running for the European elections for the League, underlines: “I fought for years in war and I have decided to continue fighting but from the seats of the European Parliament. Mine is not a candidacy of If the voters elect me I will sit on those seats in Brussels.” He then underlines that he is “an original, not like the front candidates”. Finally comes the dig thrown at party leaders who were engaged in the electoral campaign and then remained in Italy. And, returning to the controversy over his considerations on homosexuals, the general specifies: “I am not homophobic, phobia is a psychiatric disease”.

FEDERMECCANICA: DOWN PRODUCTION, STRUCTURAL WEDGE CUT

The decline in production in the metalworking sector continues, losing 4.1% in the first quarter compared to 2023. This is what emerges from the economic survey by Federmeccanica. For general director Stefano Franchi we are faced with a “dark picture, a source of great concern”. For entrepreneurs, the government’s measures are not sufficient with the incentives for Industry 5.0 investments: “While waiting for the implementing decrees, this year is now lost”, says Franchi. On the tax wedge the request is to make it “structural and broaden the audience”. In view of the renewal of the contract of the sector on which negotiations have begun with the unions, the association will work “in a constructive way”. For the director “we have a contract that is working and we have to deal with a complicated moment”.
