MELONI INAUGURATES THE CAIVANO SPORTS CENTER

“In Caivano the State has made the difference, the institutions can keep their commitments”. With these words Giorgia Meloni inaugurated the new sports center in the municipality of the metropolitan area of Naples. The structure, the scene of rapes, drug dealing and violence, has been recovered and renovated. “We brought hope”, underlines the prime minister. “Today is a beautiful day”, added Don Maurizio Patriciello, the anti-Camorra priest. The greeting between Meloni and the Campania governor Vincenzo De Luca was cold, who had spoken of the ministers’ “election walks”. “If every time the government walks it brings these results – Meloni’s reply – then we continue walking”.

THE POPE APOLOGIZES AFTER THE HOMOPHOBIC INSULT: “I DID NOT MEAN TO OFFEND”

Pope Francis apologizes. After his words about “faggotness” went around the world, the pontiff takes a step back. “The Pope never intended to offend or express himself in homophobic terms – specifies today the director of the press office – and he apologizes to those who felt offended by the use of a term, reported by others”. Bergoglio had used offensive phrases during a conversation, behind closed doors, with the bishops of the CEI. “In the church there is room for everyone – says the Vatican, quoting the words used on other occasions by Pope Francis – no one is useless, no one is superfluous. There is room for everyone, just as we are”.

MATTARELLA REMEMBER PIAZZA DELLA LOGGIA: “THEY WANTED FASCISM”

Sergio Mattarella remembers the massacre in Piazza della Loggia exactly fifty years after that 28 May 1974 which shook not only the city of Brescia, but an entire country. The head of state placed a wreath of flowers in front of the stele commemorating the attack. Eight people died and over one hundred were injured due to the bomb that exploded during an anti-fascist demonstration. “The creators of the massacre – said Mattarella – wanted fascism”. The President of the Republic speaks of “colluders and strategists of death” who represented “a very serious threat against the Republic: they betrayed Italy in the shadows – he underlined again – against their people and their country”.

FOR CONFINDUSTRIA “THE CUTTING OF THE TAX WEDGE IS FUNDAMENTAL”

A first “positive” meeting between the new president of Confindustria Emanuele Orsini, elected last Thursday, and the Minister of Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso. The summit at Mimit, which lasted about an hour, served, explains the minister, to register “full agreement on national and European industrial policy objectives”. Orsini speaks of the start of a “positive dialogue. We hope to have the answers soon”, says the industrial leader who confirms among his priorities the confirmation of the cut in the tax wedge “to give spending capacity to workers”. And then at the center of the discussion is Industry 5.0. Urso announces that the implementing decrees will arrive by June so that “companies will be able to plan their interventions for the second part of the year”.
