Palestine in the UN, historic resolution passed. Italy abstained, M5s: “Shame”

Palestine 'qualified' to become a full member of the United Nations: the resolution was passed at the UN General Assembly, Italy abstained

BOLOGNA – A historic resolution forthe entry of Palestine into the UN. Now the ‘ball’ passes to the Security Council. In fact, the resolution recognizes Palestine as qualified to become a full member of the United Nations, and recommends that the Security Council “reconsider the issue favorably”.

THE ISRAELI AMBASSADOR THROUGH THE UN-CARD TO PIECES

The comment of the Israeli ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, was poisonous, as he made the dramatic gesture of tearing up the UN Charter, passing some pages of the document through a mini paper shredder. Here are his words: “You have opened the United Nations to modern Nazis,” he said before the vote in the General Assembly. And again: “This day will remain remembered in infamy.” As for Palestine, he called it a “Palestinian terrorist state that would be led by the Hitler of our times.” Before inserting the pages into the mini paper shredder, he finally said: “You are tearing the UN Charter into pieces with your hands“.

M5S: “ITALY’S SHAMEFUL ABSTENTION AT THE UN ON PALESTINE”

“Today Melonian Italy demonstrated its true face for the umpteenth time, with yet another shameful abstention on the historic resolution approved today, with a massive vote, by the UN General Assembly which gave the green light to Palestine’s accession to the UN as a full member. Countries such as France and Spain voted in favor, while Italy passively aligned itself with the United States and the United Kingdom. An unworthy position because it was a highly symbolic vote which falls at a dramatic moment, with Netanyahu’s tanks aiming their cannons at Rafah. The 5 Star Movement condemns this vote, given not in the name of Italy which believes in peace, not in our name.” This was declared by the parliamentarians of the 5 Star Movement of the Foreign Affairs Commissions of the House and Senate.
