Order of physiotherapists of Lazio towards the first regional congress in Rome

May 25th an opportunity to discuss the future of the profession

ROME – ‘The prospects of physiotherapy in the Lazio region: equity, proximity, humanization and sustainability of the Regional Health System’. It is the title of the 1st Regional Congress of the Order of Physiotherapists of Lazio, which will take place in Rome on Saturday 25 May at the Auditorium della Tecnica, in viale Umberto Tupini 65.

Chaired by the president of OFI Lazio, Annamaria Servadio, with the organizational coordination handled by the vice-president Maria Rita Molinari and the scientific one entrusted to the post-basic training, refresher and research delegate Loredana Gigli, the conference represents the first opportunity for discussion of a community professional who wants to take the opportunity to reflect and discuss to trace the trajectories of the future of the profession, aware that the promotion of health, the efficient management of resources, the development of new organizational models and the involvement of citizens are the only path to take to contribute, together with institutions, bodies and other healthcare professions, to more equitable healthcare.

The event will open with institutional greetings and will continue with two sessions: in the first, entitled ‘Organisational models and development of physiotherapy’, we will discuss, among other things, DM77, proximity services, physiotherapist at inside pharmacies and new employment prospects.

In the second, entitled ‘Tools and strategies for innovation in physiotherapy’, space for telemedicine in Lazio, technologies in rehabilitation with virtuous experiences in the region, accessibility and equity of access to physiotherapy and rehabilitation care and physiotherapy and rare diseases.

But we will also discuss professional responsibility for the physiotherapist, with the analysis of the implementing decrees of the Gelli-Bianco Law, health communication and the role of social media between health responsibility and digitalisation of the sector.

In the session that closes the congress, entitled ‘Looking at the freelance profession. Connection perspectives’, the participants will focus and discuss topics such as adapted physical activity, the functional assessment of the chronic patient and the paths to be undertaken in the area, low and medium complexity health needs in physiotherapy, physiotherapy, the sport and physical exercise, health education and prevention.

A Round Table on the topics covered will bring the curtain down on the 1st Regional Congress of the Order of Physiotherapists of Lazio, accredited by the National Commission for Continuing Education.
