ROME – “You are dead“, “Let’s take your photos and put them online so everyone can see what a disgusting woman you are“, “Women They don’t know what they want, if you’re with me you can’t think of doing what you want.” Anna Foglietta and Massimiliano Caiazzo, last night on the stage of the concert against violence against women ‘Una, niente, centomila‘, organized by the association of the same name, interpreted a very touching: a couple, who like many, fall in love, but then he becomes abusive, violent, threatening death after reporting it to the police. The dialogue is based on ‘real’ chats in the possession of the Postal Police: “Massimo and I read them and sweetened them – explained the actress – what we read was even more oppressive and violent”.
“Where the fuck are you? And why did you remove geolocation? Tell the truth, are you being a slut around your friends? Because you can’t give me what I ask of you. The truth is that you don’t appreciate nothing“, says the man to his woman who feels increasingly harassed and manages to report him. “You are a monster” she tells him, “And you’re dead, it’s too late“. In the end the two actors hold hands and say: “It’s not too late. Violence against women by men is transversal and is characterized by a series of recurring dynamics. If you too you are in a toxic relationship you can save yourself, if you also have a man who controls you, that is not love. Call 1522 and go to the nearest violence center”.
The dialogue performed by Foglietta and Caiazzo was great success also among the social media audience who wrote: “Violence against women has many forms but a single aim, to destroy you. This monologue should be shown in every school because it is important to learn to love”. And also: “I felt indignation, anger, anguish, pain. This monologue was a stab in the heart.”
