FLORENCE – The era of the digital ticket begins at the Uffizi Galleries: from today admissions can be purchased online on the museum’s official website or through the call center for the Gallery of Statues and Paintings, Palazzo Pitti , Boboli Gardens become a QR code that the visitor can use as an access ticket to show directly via their smartphone. The new procedure, which does not cancel reservations made with the old system, specifies a note from the Uffizi, will thus eliminate the waiting time for collecting the paper ticket thus streamlining the moment of entry, guaranteeing the at the same time a saving in paper consumption.

With the voucher it will also be possible to download a complete map of the museum space covered by the visit. “With this new system the aim is to reduce queues and make entry into the museum easier and more fluid, making it easier for visitors, helping to improve the quality of their stay in the museum and bringing order and beauty back to the Uffizi square”, he comments thus in a note il director Simone Verde.
