Netanyahu arrested, Amal Clooney among the consultants of the International Criminal Court

George Clooney's lawyer and wife: "I support the historic step taken by the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to bring justice to the victims of atrocities in Israel and Palestine"

ROME – Amal Alamuddin Clooney, international law lawyer, is among the consultants of the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) who asked the judges of the Hague tribunal for arrest warrants for the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the leader of the Palestinian organization Hamas Yahya Sinwar for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

“I joined this group because I believe in the rule of law and the need to protect civilian lives. The law that protects civilians in war was developed more than 100 years ago and it applies in all countries of the world, regardless of the reasons for the conflict,” Alamuddin said in a note published on the Clooney Foundation For Justice. “As a human rights lawyerI will never accept that the life of one child has less value than that of another. I do not accept that any conflict should be outside the reach of the law, nor that any perpetrator is at above the law. Therefore, I support the historic step taken by the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to bring justice to the victims of atrocities in Israel and Palestine”, concluded the wife of Hollywood star George Clooney.
