‘Ndrangheta, 14 arrests for electoral crimes in Reggio Calabria

7 subjects in prison, 4 under house arrest and 3 with the obligation to report to the Judicial Police under investigation, for various reasons, of mafia-type association

ROME – Fourteen arrested in Reggio Calabria for electoral crimes.

The Carabinieri del ROS and the Provincial Command of Reggio Calabria, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, have carried out an order implementing precautionary measures issued by the court of Reggio Calabria: 7 subjects in prison, 4 under house arrest and 3 with obligation to present to the Judicial Police those under investigation, for various reasons, of mafia-type association, extortion aggravated by the mafia method, electoral crimes, corruption for an act contrary to official duties, material and ideological forgery committed by the public official in public documents.

The investigation, directed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office – district anti-mafia and anti-terrorism directorate of Reggio Calabria – documented the existence of serious and consistent elements relating to the operations and criminal activities of the Araniti gang.
