ROME – There is no peace for commuters who go to work by public transport and for tourists who are already invading our cities. After the strike on April 26 (near the Liberation Bridge) public transport workers will also fold their arms on Monday May 6, and for 24 hours.
On May 6, the regional secretariat of the USB union joined the 24-hour national strike proclaimed by USB, from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm and from 8.00 pm to the end of service and the unions Cobas Lavoro Privato, AdL (Workers’ Association), SGB (General Basic Union) and Cub Trasporti have joined the 24-hour national strike proclaimed by Cobas Lavoro Privato, AdL, Sgb and Cub Trasporti, from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm and from 8.00 pm to the end of the service.
For Cobas Lavoro Privato, Adl, SGB and CUB Trasporti the strike will be: in support of the wage increase of 300 euros; for the reduction of working hours from 39 to 35 hours per week, with the same salary and reduction of driving time and working hours for drivers; for the adaptation of safety and health protections in the workplace, as well as for users of the TPL service and for the blocking of privatizations and related tenders for the TPL.
USB will go on strike due to the failure to respond to the request to convene for the negotiation of the renewal of the “national collective labor agreement Autoferrotranvieri Internavigatori 2024 2027” pursuant to art.3 c.2) national collective labor agreement 28.11. 2018.
On Monday 6 May the trade union organization Usb Lavoro Privato – Trasporti Roma called a national strike lasting 24 hours with abstention from work from 8.30am to 5pm and from 8pm to the end of service. Guarantee periods: from the start of the daytime service until 8.29am and from 5pm until 7.59pm.
The strike will affect the entire Atac network and the RomaTpl, Autoservizi Troiani7Sap networks in the Roma Capitale area and in the municipalities of the metropolitan city served. On the Atac network, the strike also concerns connections carried out by other subcontracted operators
On Monday 6 May the trade union organizations Cub Trasporti, Cobas Lavoro Privato, ADL Cobas, Sgb proclaimed a 24-hour national strike. All the unrest will affect the workers of the ATM S.p.A. Group in the same way. In Milan, the agitation of the traveling and operating staff of the surface and underground lines will be possible from 8.45 to 15.00 and from 18.00 until the end of the service.
The strike was called with reasons that can be summarized as follows: “wage increase of 300 euros; reduction of working hours from 39 to 35 hours per week, with the same salary and reduction of driving time and working hours for drivers;
adjustment of safety and health protections in the workplace and for users of the TPL; blocking privatizations and related tenders for the TPL”.
Bologna and Ferrara are preparing for a new critical day on the public transport front. In fact, on May 6th, a new strike is planned, this time lasting 24 hours, of the rail and tram drivers in which Usb Lavoroprivate, SGB, Cobas Lavoroprivate, Adl Cobas and Cub Traporti have joined. For the traveling staff of the Tper car and trolleybus services of Bologna and Ferrara (buses and couriers), the hourly strike will take place, in compliance with the guarantee periods, from 8.30 to 16.30 and from 19.30 to the end of service. Therefore, at other times urban, suburban and extra-urban public transport services will not be guaranteed, informs Tper. For urban, suburban and extra-urban transport in the Bologna basin, only trips from the central terminus to the suburbs will be guaranteed, and vice versa, with departures until 8.15 in the morning and until 7.15 in the evening.
During the strike, on call- telephone center 051.290.290 the presence of an operator will be guaranteed. The strike also concerns the staff dedicated to the “Marconi Express”: therefore, the People Mover could also suffer the inconveniences linked to the mobilization. For the urban lines of Imola, all complete journeys departing from the train station or bus station will be guaranteed until 8.20 in the morning and until 7.20 in the evening. In Ferrara only trips from the peripheral, central and intermediate terminals will be guaranteed, departing until 8.15am and 7.15pm.
Anm informs that on Monday 6 May the USB Trade Union Organization will join the 24-hour national strike in the public transport sector. The strike will last from 03.01 on 06 May to 03.00 on 07 May.
