More than 7 million visitors at the Colosseum, Russo: “We will get through 2023”

In mid-2024, the Colosseum can already count on 7 million visitors. There were 12 million and 200 thousand visitors

ROME – “We are already halfway through 2024 and, we can say, we have already exceeded 7 million visitors, so we think that 2024 will exceed the number of visitors in 2023. We are very happy because it is a monument that fascinates all citizens of the world because we mostly have visitors who come from Europe, the United States but also from the East”. This was said by the director of the Colosseum archaeological park, Alfonsina Russo, on the sidelines of the visit reserved for the press of the new night route A night at the Colosseum.
From the rankings provided yesterday by the ministry, in 2023 the Park was the first most visited cultural site in Italy. There were 12,212,000 visitors. In 2022 there were 9,312,000.
