Montefeltro, in Montecopiolo cable car all year round, biking and bushcrafting. “Let’s bet on sport”

Thanks to Pil Montefeltro and (now) funds from the E. Romagna Region". Even private individuals believe in it: Glamping will be born where they can also try bushcrafting

RIMINI – The future ofMontecopiolo, municipality of Montefeltro (from 2021 in the province of Rimini) will be open air sports, together with the tourist flow that it will be able to intercept. The two projects that the administration has undertaken to implement go in this direction. The first is the restyling of the routes that connect Monte Montone and Montecopiolo Castle, already at its conclusion. The second, which has just started, is that relating to the Eremo ski lift, of which the Municipality intends to become owner: the signature of the notary’s deed is expected shortly, but in recent months the transfer of the system free of charge from the ski lift company. And this step will lead to the redevelopment of the facilities, thanks to regional funds, and their opening all year round.

TREKKING AND BIKE ROUTES

The works on the 3 paths in the Monte Montone and Castello area have instead been completed, involving approximately 2,200 meters of greenery accessible to visitors on foot and by bicycle. The main part of the intervention concerned a stretch of approximately one kilometer in which lateral supports, parabolic curves and natural bumps were created which, respecting the morphology of the pre-existing route, make the passage more “engaging” for those crossing it. Furthermore, a wooden house has been inserted in the area which can be used for various services (for example rental, bar, storage or secretariat in case of events), the management of which will be entrusted to private individuals or associations.< br>The overall cost of the works amounts to almost 70,000 euros (more precisely 69,242 euros), of which 39,000 are covered by the contribution received thanks to GDP Local Integrated Project ‘The paths of experience at the origins of Montefeltro’, implemented through PSR Marche funds, managed by Gal Montefeltro Sviluppo. This is a network of public-private interventions carried out in seven nearby municipalities –Macerata Feltria, Mercatino Conca, Monte Grimano Terme, Montecopiolo, Monte Cerignone, Pietrarubbia and Sassofeltrio-which obtained a total financing of approximately 500 thousand euros.

THE MAYOR: SPORTS TOURISM IS OUR FUTURE

“I believe that Montecopiolo and its territory can have a future perspective thanks to sports tourism and thanks to the sport that can be done here”, underlines the Mayor Pietro Rossi. The contribution of regional contributions is of great importance for the construction of the necessary infrastructures, even if the “transition” from Marche and Emilia Romagna has in fact lengthened the time needed for the completion of the works, in particular for the GDP project, he clarifies the mayor.
“We must also look at the mountain areas close to us which have had a relaunch, a second life thanks to cycle tourism”, reiterates Rossi. “We need to change and adapt to have a future perspective even in our small realities – he concludes – if we want to combat depopulation, bring tourists and make local businesses work, it is necessary to focus on this type of project”.

WHERE TO FIND LUXURY AND ADVENTURE IN GLAMPING

And public initiatives must go hand in hand with private investments, as GDP itself has foreseen – The paths of experience at the origins of Montefeltro‘. In fact, still in the Montecopiolo area, in the town of Santa Rita, an accommodation business that will open its doors in the next few months, the “Glamping Inn”, has also obtained the granting of contributions GDP, worth 30 thousand euros. This is glamping, or rather a glamorous camping site with mobile homes equipped with the comfort of luxury homes. The strength of Glamping Inn is “the sea view”, but not only that. As the owner, Omar Angeli, explains, Glamping Inn aims to link 5-star hospitality to the world of sport. “We will have a Calisthenics gym with an instructor – he clarifies – and a well-known bushcraft trainer, Andrea Tenti, will be part of the staff, who will be able to organize survival courses for guests”. Glamping Inn “will form the basis for an Academy that offers 360-degree courses in the outdoor world – trekking – mtb hiking – gravel bike parking – survival”, adds Angeli. In fact, several paths start right from the glamping to try your hand at, which offer the opportunity to also involve the world of horse riding.
“The definitive authorization to start the redevelopment works of the area is expected soon in order to be able to start the tourist/accommodation activity – explains Angeli – and respect the expiry dates of the tenders assigned to us, which will partly contribute to covering the costs already incurred and those that we will incur”. “To date – concludes the entrepreneur – through major investments, much of the equipment has already been purchased and the redevelopment works to be started, with zero environmental impact, require a short timescale”.
