ROME – The Citizen Defense Movement launches a newprivacy alert for Facebook and Instagram users. “From Thursday 26 June 2024 – explains MDC – Meta will use photos, videos, posts and captions shared publicly on the platforms to train its Artificial Intelligence systems. Without explicit consent, Meta will have access to a large amount of personal data,which could be used for purposes not yet known
The company has not provided clear and complete information on how user data will be used for Artificial Intelligence, so there are concerns about data security. Consumers to protect their privacy can object to the processing of data. MDC will support users to oppose the processing of their data and invites them to fill out the formsavailable on the Facebook platforms(https://www.facebook.com/help/ contact/712876720715583) and Instagram (https://help.instagram.com/contact/23396445956220) to oppose the processing of data and make private the posts that you do not want to be used by Meta for the training of Artificial Intelligence”.
MDC invites users “to discover more about the risks and opportunities of Artificial Intelligence with the association’s TRIS Recovery project, funded by MIMIT. The project aims to raise awareness and inform consumers on the risks and opportunities related to AI, with a particular focus on the protection of privacy. The Citizen Defense Movement invites all users to take proactive measures to protect their privacy and will continue to ensure that companies respect consumer rights”.
