Meloni: “Thanks to the leaders, the G7 was a success”

Giorgia Meloni on social media sends greetings and thanks to the Group of Seven for the recently concluded G7

BARI – “I want to thank all the leaders of the Group of Seven for the great contribution they have given to the success of this summit”. Thus the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, with a message spread on Facebook.

In the text, in reference to the summit in Borgo Egnazia, we read again: “I also thank the leaders of the nations and international organizations who participated in theoutreach session, one of the most extensive and representative ever, and which made this summit even more significant; and a special thank you to His Holiness Pope Francis”.

THE MEETING WITH THE PRESIDENT OF ALGERIA, AT THE CENTER MATTEI FLOOR

The day after the conclusion of the G7 summit, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with the President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
“During the meeting”, a note reports, “a profound expression was expressed satisfaction with the excellent state of bilateral relations, particularly in the economic sphere where relations in the energy, agricultural and industrial sectors continue to develop”.
The text continues: “At the center of the conversation, the state of progress of the projects as part of the Mattei Plan for Africa in the agricultural and professional training sector, as well as the joint commitment in the framework of the Rome Process on migration and development. In this context, the sustainable agriculture project which will involve the Italian agro-industrial group controlled by Bonifiche Ferraresi SpA for the strategic concession of approximately 36,000 hectares to be developed with agro-industrial activities in collaboration with Algerian partners. The largest investment in sustainable agriculture made so far by Italy on the southern shore of the Mediterranean”.
The note finally underlines that Meloni and Tebboune “then discussed the main international issues, also in light of Algeria’s role as a member of the Security Council for the two-year period 2024-25”.

THE MEETING WITH TRUDEAU: “LET’S FACE GLOBAL CHALLENGES TOGETHER”

“The Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, had a meeting today with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. Canada will assume the Presidency of the G7 in 2025. The two Leaders focused on the prospects for strengthening bilateral relations In this regard, they adopted, as agreed at their previous meeting in March in Toronto, an Action Plan for enhanced cooperation between Italy and Canada. This agreement reflects the commitment to collaborate in tackling global challenges together by promoting sustainable prosperity, international stability and a rules-based international order; the promotion of inclusive and sustainable economic growth; migration; security and defense; research and innovation, with particular regard to artificial intelligence and quantum technology”.
