ROME – The Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, received the Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Mustafa, today at Palazzo Chigi. President Meloni reiteratedItalian support for all ongoing efforts for a sustainable ceasefire, the release of all hostages in the hands of Hamas and a leap in quality in humanitarian assistance to the population of Gaza.
In this last regard, the strong Italian commitment to the civilian population of Gaza was underlined, including through further funding for the ‘Food for Gaza’ initiative. During the meeting, President Meloni reiterated the need to restart a political process that leads to a lasting peace based on the two-state solution.
“The visit to Europe of the Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Mustafa, begins from Italy. I assured him that we will redouble our efforts for the ceasefire in Gaza. As the G7 Presidency we continue to work for peace and for a two-people solution two states”. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani wrote it on X.
