NAPLES – No to fake news. “I heard about landslides, explosions of gas cylinders, I heard incredible things. We must tell citizens everything, but let it be true. We must avoid the speculation of those who want to harm us.” The mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi said this in a press conference in relation to the situation in the Campi Flegrei, where last night around 8pm the earth shook again with a shock of magnitude 4.4, the strongest of the last 40 years.

“Scholars tell us that a shock with a magnitude greater than 5 is not possible”, says the mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi. “We must in every way prevent normal fear, an absolutely understandable fear, a concrete and real concern, from turning into panic.”
“We are trying to inform citizens, we must all be able to avoid alarmist communication, and ensure that we are able to strengthen this coexistence with bradyseism”, adds Manfredi. p>
