Larissa Iapichino won the silver medal in the long jump at the European Athletics Championships on the final evening at the Olympic stadium in Rome. In the race won by the phenomenal German Malaika Mihambo at 7.22 (+1.4), the best world performance of the year, the Italian overtook the Portuguese Agate de Sousa, bronze with 6.91, and the German Mikaelle Assani, fourth in the final round with the same measurement.
ARESE BRONZE
Splendid bronze for Pietro Arese in the 1500 metres, earned with a thrilling sprint in 3:33.34 by the Turin athlete after fourth place two years ago, while the Norwegian phenomenon Jakob Ingebrigtsen confirms himself, first in 3:31.95. “After many sacrifices, fourth places and many almosts, this is the year of yes. Finally I put something around my neck”, said the Italian at the end of the race
