ROME – “After having carried out the consultations provided for in article 12 of our Constitution, I have decided to return to you with the vote the choice of our future parliamentarian. I therefore dissolve the National Assembly this evening“. French President Emmanuel Macron announced this in a speech to the nation after the first results of the European elections which see the clear affirmation of the right led by Marine Le Pen.
“I will sign in a few moments the decree convening the legislative elections which will be held on June 30 for the first round and on July 7 for the second“, adds Macron.

The decision to dissolve the National Assembly and return to the vote is “serious, heavy, but it is above all an act of trust. Trust in you, my dear compatriots, in the ability of the French people to make the right choice for ourselves and for future generations. Confidence in our democracy.” French President Emmanuel Macron says so in a speech to the nation after the first results of the European elections.
“The rise of nationalists and demagogues is a danger for our nation, but also for our Europe, for France’s place in Europe and in the world. And I say this even if we have just celebrated the landing in Normandy with the whole world and even if, in a few weeks, we will have to welcome the world to the Olympic and Paralympic Games”. This was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron in a speech to the nation after the first results of the European elections which saw the clear affirmation of the right led by Marine Le Pen.
“The far right is both the impoverishment of the French and the downgrading of our country”, adds Macron.
