ROME – An executive order establishing Liberia’s first tribunal to try war crimes committed during the civil conflict fought between 1989 and 2003 has been signed by President Joseph Boakai. The news is today the opening of Front Page Africa and other newspapers in the capital Monrovia.
In the executive order, Boakai emphasizes that the fight against “injustice and impunity” will help to “restore the respectability and integrity of the country” and to “reconcile and unite the people”.
