ROME – “I think that this government needs to be stopped“, says the general secretary of the CGIL Maurizio Landini from Naples, speaking of the reforms on the sidelines of an assembly with workers in the Cral room of the Port System Authority. “The differentiated autonomy, the premiership, the enabling law on taxation, the cancellation of the confrontation with the unions: we are in the presence of an authoritarian logic – highlights Landini – of those who want to question the principles and values of our Constitution and of those who want to further divide the country”.
“We are radically opposed to differentiated autonomy – insists the secretary of the CGIL – and also to the logic of the premiership and we think that, on the contrary, a real reform is needed We think it’s time for a law on representation that guarantees workers the right to choose their own union and to be able to vote on their rights and we think we need a tax reform worthy of the name.”
“In the meantime we want to reach the objective of 500 thousand signatures, addressing all citizens. We still have a month and a half to go, but the first month is going very well: we have reached a quantity of very consistent signatures, we are happy, there is a very positive return.” Maurizio Landini, general secretary of the CGIL, from Naples, where he participates in an assembly with workers in the cral room of the Port System Authority, takes stock of the referendum campaign in support of the four questions proposed by the CGIL.
” Now – Landini highlights – we are in the final sprint: we are going to the markets, to the workplaces and I am confident that we will largely achieve the objective. We have not given ourselves a number, but we have told ourselves to bring home the highest number of signatures and talking to more people is possible”.
“Then – adds the secretary of the CGIL – the other great challenge begins which is to get 25 million Italians to vote, which is the most difficult at all, but we think it can be done”.
The referendums promoted by the CGIL “are not biased – Landini insists -, but they mean that work must be put back at the centre need to work, I think it’s time for all those who keep the country on its feet, through the referendum, to tell parliament and the government and the political forces to protect and improve the condition of those who keep the country on its feet”.
