Two episodes of 'Kevin Spacey: Behind the Mask' directed and produced by director Katherine Haywood from Friday on discovery+

ROME – After being acquitted on 9 charges in 2023, ‘Kevin Spacey – Behind the Mask’ arrives on discovery+ on June 14th. The two-episode docu-series – produced and directed by Katherine Haywood – presents a portrait of the allegations of alleged sexual harassment and abuse made against the two-time Oscar winner.

The documentary shows the shocking testimonies of 10 men – some dating back to 1981 – ranging from some young actors from the Old Vic Theater in London to extras from the most famous Hollywood sets and ex-Marines that the award-winning actor met during his lifedescribe Spacey as a truly unscrupulous predator. Additionally, the voice of Randall Fowler, Spacey’s older brother, was also heard, offering an insight into their tumultuous childhood.

‘Kevin Spacey – Behind the Mask’ also reveals the dangerous power dynamics within the entertainment industry that has allowed the stories of these men and the impact they had on their lives to remain unheard for a long time.

According to The Guardian, the docu-series clearly shows how power imbalances and prejudices of the historical context in which we live can lead to abuse. In fact, several times the accusers underline the discomfort they have had over the years in speaking openly about the harassment they suffered because they were intimidated by the actor’s fame.
