Israeli attack on Rafah: 40 dead, many women and children

ROME – During the night an attack by the Israeli air force on the Gaza strip caused 40 civilian deaths, the first toll speaks of many women and children. A tent city northwest of Rafah, a humanitarian area on the border with Egypt, was hit. The Israeli army’s version is that a compound would have been hit in the Tal as Sultan area – which is also located near the UN headquarters for Palestinian refugees – in which there would have been an important meeting of Hamas and the army managed to killtwo high-level commanders of the Islamist-Palestinian movement.The fire then also caused the death of civilians in the nearby tent city.
