ROME – “If Italy is a global protagonist in many sectors, we owe it to the ability of our people. Ability to invent, to innovate, to create the new. This quality comes from our culture, from will of scholars and businessmen”. Thus the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, brought his greetings to the third ‘Young Innovators Business Forum’, organized in Milan by Angi- National association of young innovators.
“Italy is a country rich in inventiveness and poor in raw materials– he explained- This has always led us to look for original solutions, to assert our talents where others, however, had resources. Doing more with less, using what others discard, taking new paths that have never been taken before: it is a challenge, but this is one of the drivers of Italian genius. Where others slow down, we are able to accelerate let’s see today. Italy is a G7 country, our economy appears healthier than others, it is among the greenest in the world and we export sustainable solutions. We must pay attention to continuous improvement, but also recognize our merits. The historical lack of resources has led us to be champions of recycling and circularity, that prudence born of difficulties has within it the precious root of sustainability. Who wastes not only it makes an anti-economic gesture, but it causes an offense to the environment and to work. We have therefore learned not to waste and in many sectors we are top of the class. We owe it to this spirit, but above all to our research, to our entrepreneurs. Our sustainable approach becomes an element of exceptional economic growth”.
“Today’s Forum – the minister continued – is therefore an opportunity for institutions, entrepreneurs and innovative start-ups to meet; it is a unique opportunity to establish collaborative relationships and to exchange mutual knowledge. The other theme is the ecological transition, which is the twin of the digital transition. One cannot survive without the other, just as both are going through challenges that are crucial for our future think about the climate emergency, the need for renewables and the issue of critical raw materials. They are the challenges of today and will be the challenges of tomorrow, but they are sectors in which we excel tomorrow he greets events such as the ‘Young Innovators Business Forum’ with great favor. We need young people and innovators, so good work to all of you”.
