ROME – “He is jealous, obsessive” and “Siu would never have killed herself. His daughters, aged three and six, are his priority. Her world. Her life. Every time we met, she talked about them. This is said by the model Indira Acosta Arismendi who, interviewed by La Stampa, talks about the influencer and friend Siu, aka Soukaina El Basri, hospitalized with a chest wound and a laceration of the mammary artery in the intensive care unit of the Novara hospital after being injured on Thursday 16 May. The main suspect, her husband Jonathan Maldonato was arrested yesterday for attempted murder (he is now in prison and will have to appear before the judge to have his arrest validated).
“Siu took to the streets with us for women, while he experienced violence firsthand. Thinking about it now, I shudder.” Acosta has no doubts about what happened to her influencer friend: “There was an argument. And it degenerated. I’m sure of it.” Siu, according to the model’s story, had tried to leave her husband several times due to “mistreatment. But she hadn’t said anything to us friends. She didn’t want to get anyone involved, so she handled the matter from She was alone for a while. I’d say she just disappeared.” And then, “a few months ago, I understood that it was her husband’s fault: he persecuted her. He was jealous, he didn’t want her to do fashion shows, to have her photo taken. I think he took away her cell phone or in any case forced her to turn it off. She told me that she had reported him, but that she later regretted it.”
