Influencer Siu in a coma, her husband arrested: “A self-harming gesture”

The magistrates, not convinced by Jonathan Maldonato's version, confirmed the arrest. Investigations are underway

ROME – On social media he is known as Jonathan Jonny, Jonathan Maldonato, the 37-year-old man who was arrested last night on charges of attempted murder strong> of his 30-year-old wife Soukaina El Basri. The woman, with 81 thousand followers on Instagram and known as Siu, has been hospitalized since last Thursday in very serious conditions with a chest wound and a laceration of the mammary artery at the Maggiore hospital in Novara. The husband was arrested last night on charges of attempted murder: he allegedly hit his wife in the chest with a sharp object. According to what was reported by various press outlets Maldonato said that his wife would have caused the rupture of the mammary artery herself by falling on the corner of a piece of furniture. This thesis was also confirmed by Siu herself once she arrived at the Biella hospital where she received first aid. Now the woman is not at the end of her life but is in a medically induced coma. The couple lives in Chiavazza, a hamlet of Biella, in Piedmont. He has two little girls, aged 6 and 5.

Weapon which did not convince the magistrates who confirmed the arrest “considering the serious circumstantial evidence acquired and the materialization of a risk of escape.
