ROME – She went to the market like every day, but never returned home. Farida, a 45-year-old married mother of four children, had disappeared since Thursday. Her husband immediately raised the alarm and the search began immediately. Then, the terrible discovery near the village of Kalempang, in the province of South Sulawesi in Indonesia: Farida was found in the belly of a reticulated python, about five meters long which showed a suspicious swelling. So they decided to open his stomach and the woman’s head appeared and was pulled out fully clothed.
The reticulated python is one of the longest and heaviest snakes in the world, reaching a weight of 140 kg and a length of 9 metres. It is a non-poisonous snake that kills its prey by crushing them: after wrapping them in its coils and killing them, it begins to swallow the victim whole. The jaw being disarticulated allows it to swallow large prey.
