REGGIO EMILIA – At dawn on April 25th he was caught by Digos staff writing the phrase on a wall with a spray can: “Rsi: for the honor of ‘Italy’, followed by a Celtic cross and the symbols of the SS and the far-right party “Militia”. For this reason, a 26-year-old from Reggio Emilia was reported as allegedly responsible for the defacement of street furniture with neo-Nazi symbols, recorded in recent weeks in the areas of Viale Umberto I and surrounding areas.

The suspect was framed both by the video surveillance cameras, and by the fact that – at home – he possessed seven black and white spray cans and stickers and patches attributable to ultranationalist movements , material that was seized. The police commissioner of the province of Reggio Emilia, Giuseppe Maggese, is also evaluating whether to also apply preventive measures to the young man. The investigations, coordinated by the Reggio Emilia prosecutor’s office, began on April 15th after some candidates running for the next local elections had reported and taken steps to delete some of the offending writings, which cyclically reappear.
