MILAN – Goodbye to the “disposable” ATM ticket: from 7 May the ticket to access buses, trams, trolleybuses and the Milanese public transport metro will become rechargeable. RicaricaMi is the new practical and fast ticket that allows you to top up up to 30 trips into a single ticket without additional costs. The new ticket is not nominative: it can be used by different people but not at the same time. Old tickets will be valid until November 30, 2024. Also a video tutorial to explain how to use and top up the new RicaricaMi ticket. The new RicaricaMi approaches the reader at the subway turnstiles or at the validators on board surface transport and should not be inserted into the turnstile slot, dedicated only to old tickets.

In view of this digital evolution, ATM has installed 850 new readers in the subway which, thanks to personalized graphics, will direct the passenger to identify the validation point. The ticket can contain up to 30 ordinary tickets with the same fare and up to 5 carnets. To load a different fare you must first use up the tickets already loaded: for example, if RicaricaMi contains 5 Mi1-Mi3 tickets, you must consume them all before loading a ticket with the Mi4-Mi5 fare. The tariffs of all the zones of the STIBM integrated system (Mi1-Mi9) can be loaded. Please note that the tickets uploaded to RicaricaMi can also be used on Trenord railway routes and on the means of transport of extra-urban operators operating in the territory of the Stibm tariff system.
