The doctor, killed while he was on his way to work, he is not the only victim: the attack, which occurred in the city where one of the main Palestinian refugee camps is located, caused 8 deaths and at least 20 injuries. “An Israeli military operation has been underway since this morning which has so far resulted in eight deaths, including a surgeon from the Khalil Suleiman hospital, supported by Doctors Without Borders. Doctor Osayd Jabarin was hit while he went to work“. Our team is extremely concerned that the number of deaths and injuries may continue to increase in this attack”.
The organization continues: “In recent months we have witnessed repeated attacks and threats by Israeli forces against staff, medical facilities and ambulances, as well as incidents of violence and killings in the Khalil Suleiman hospital in JeninWe urge Israeli forces to ensure the safety of personnel doctor and not to hinder access to both injured patients and medical facilities”.

With the start of the Israeli military operation against the Gaza Strip – launched after the attack suffered by fighters linked to Hamas, in which almost 1,200 people were killed – the West Bank is also experiencing an escalation of violence. According to the Palestinian National Authority, based in Ramallah, 513 Palestinians have been killed since October 7.
