How much does the umbrella cost me! here are the most expensive beaches of summer 2024

This year on average we will spend 226 euros per week

ROME – Summer is upon us and what will be hot this year is not only the sun but also the price of the umbrella. Enjoying the sea from the front row of the establishment will cost on average 226 euros per week, approximately 4% more than last year. These are some of the data that emerged from Altroconsumo’s annual survey on the price of umbrellas in 2024. Ten seaside resorts taken as reference: Lignano, Rimini, Senigallia, Viareggio, Palinuro, Alassio, Gallipoli, Alghero, Taormina and Giardini Naxos, Anzio and 211, the establishments asked about prices.

The location on the beach also varies. The front row seat will obviously have higher prices than those preceding it: in the second row the average cost is “210 euros while in the third row it is 199 euros in the third row and 186 from the fourth onwards”.

THE MOST EXPENSIVE BEACHES

If among the cities taken into consideration the most significant increase was recorded in Senigallia, with +8% compared to last year, it must also be said that it is also here that umbrellas and deckchairs cost less in the front row, ‘only ‘ 155 euros, compared to 392 inAlassio, the most expensive location. “On the upper Adriatic, another good choice in terms of prices is Lignano: here the first row costs 164 euros. Followed by the Friulian town, Rimini (165 euros), Palinuro and Viareggio (209), Taormina and Giardini di Naxos (215) is not the only destination with skyrocketing prices: Gallipoli costs 289 euros for the first row while in Alghero 239 euros”.

According to what was reported in the investigation, the price of the umbrella not only varies from one location to another but also from one establishment to another. “The good news? In Lignano, Taormina and Giardini Naxos, there has been no increase compared to last year”.
