BOLOGNA – The death of Adele Baldasarre, a 16-year-old girl who died in her sleep the other evening, is a mystery. She had gone to sleep early because she felt very tired. Maybe an illness? The autopsy, which has already been ordered, will clarify what happened. The mystery deepens because it seems that the girl, a few days earlier, had undergone some tests because she had been unwell, perhaps due to problems related to the thyroid. The girl lived with her family in Scandiano, in the province of Modena, where she had moved to live from Lower Polesine (Rovigo). She died in the night between Tuesday 5 June and Wednesday 6 June: in the morning, seeing that she had not woken up, her parents went to call her but found her dead. They immediately called for help but there was nothing that could be done.
This evening, June 7, a vigil in memory of Adele will be held: the appointment is at 9pm in Scandiano in the Archipresbyterian Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Adele was in her third year of high school: she attended the Sigonio musical high school in Modena and was a great music fan. Her dream was to become a singer-songwriter. She had even already released a single, despite her young age: the piece is titled “Marilù” and tells the story of a woman who leaves her violent boyfriend after a toxic love affair. You can listen to it here. A few days ago Adele performed together with the “Specialists Choir” of her school.
The high school, which canceled the celebrations planned for the last day of lessons, dedicated a message to Adele on the institute’s website: “It is with great sadness that the Sigonio High School bids farewell to Adele Baldasarre, a 3rd grade student M, musical section, who passed away prematurely this night at the age of 16.
