Golden Globe: Lifetime Achievement Award to Bellucci, Cortellesi and Garrone among the finalists

The artistic directors Claudio Lavanga and Alina Trabattoni: "This is the edition of Italian cinema for women"

ROME – There is just under a month to go until the awaited ceremony of the Golden Globe, the recognition given by the Association of the Foreign Press in Italy, which returns to reward the excellence of Italian cinema. On July 3, the gardens of the German Academy Rome Villa Massimo will be the backdrop for the awards ceremony, which will see some of the most significant names in Italian cinema in the audience. They will be awarded by a panel composed of correspondents and journalists for the foreign press from Italy, led by the artistic directors Claudio Lavanga and Alina Trabattoni “This is the edition of Italian cinema for women. Monica Bellucci will receive the deserved Globo for Lifetime Achievement, while Paola Cortellesi, Alice Rohrwacher, Micaela Ramazzotti and Giovanna Mezzogiorno confirm themselves among the most appreciated artists also by the Foreign Press, with various nominations. There are also many surprises: such as Margherita Vicario in the running for Best Film, First Feature , Soundtrack and Photography, and the debutant Rebecca Antonaci, as Best Actress and Promising Young Woman”, comment Lavanga and Trabattoni.

Chosen from dozens of films by over 40 foreign correspondents from all over the world, the three finalists are competing for the Best Film award: Gloria! by Margherita Vicario, There’s Still Tomorrow by Paola Cortellesi and Io Capitano by Matteo Garrone, the latter also competing for the Best Director category together with < strong>The Chimera by Alice Rohrwacher. For Best First Film we find Gloria! alongside Felicità by Micaela Ramazzotti and Palazzina Laf by Michele Riondino. In the Best Actress category, Rebecca Antonaci for Finally Dawn, Micaela Ramazzotti in Felicità and Federica Rosellini protagonist of Confidenza are competing for the statuette. The male faces are instead Antonio Albanese for Cento Domeniche, Pierfrancesco Favino with the film Comandante and Elio Germano for Confidenza. They are joined by the Young Promising Awardwhich this year sees candidates Rebecca Antonaci, Andrea Fuorto for Patagonia and Simone Zambelli for his performance in Misericordia.

In addition to Bellucci, among the special awards there is also the Golden Globe Italians in the World which goes to Maurizio Lombardi, a recognition dedicated to Italians who stand out for their artistic commitment in the world. The Best Screenplay Award sees nomineesDaniele Luchetti and Francesco Piccolo authors of Confidenza,Matteo Garrone, Massimo Gaudioso, Massimo Ceccherini and Andrea Tagliaferri for Io Capitanoand Edoardo De Angelis and Sandro Veronesi for Commander; while for the Best Photography section, Angelo Sorrentino for Diabolik, chi sei? and Gianluca Palma for Gloria! will compete for the Golden Globe! and Paolo Carnera in Adagio. The Best Comedy will be chosen between Romeo is Juliet by Giovanni Veronesi, 50 km per hour by Fabio De Luigi and Six Brothers by Simone Godano; while in the Best TV Series category we find Per Elisa – Il caso Claps by Marco Pontecorvo, Supersex by Matteo Rovere, Francesco Carrozzini and Francesca Mazzoleni and< strong> A Love by Francesco Lagi.

Closing the series of awards is the Documentaries section withCan I enter?
