Girl hit and killed in kayak, lawyer investigated: “If it was my boat I didn’t notice”

The 18-metre cabin cruiser seized today would be the boat that overwhelmed Cristina and belongs to a 48-year-old lawyer from Naples: he would have been entered in the register of suspects for manslaughter and failure to provide assistance

BOLOGNA – There is a suspect for the death of Cristina Frazzica, the 31-year-old hit by a motorboat and killed on Sunday while she was kayaking off the coast of Posillipo, in the Gulf of Naples. For his death, a well-known 48-year-old Neapolitan criminal lawyer is being investigated under the hypothesis of manslaughter and failure to provide assistance: he is said to be the owner of the boat (an 18-metre cabin cruiser) that struck the young woman, seized today together with two other boats that had passed through the area of the accident. These would have been the lawyer’s words to the investigators, writes Repubblica: “If it was actually my motorboat, we didn’t realize it. In fact, we were the first to provide assistance“.

THE RESCUE (with DELAYED BURST)

The lawyer under investigation isthe person who provided assistance to Vincenzo Leone, lawyer and friend of the victims, who was with the girl. First he would have walked away, then he would have turned back, although it is not clear why he retraced his steps. The kayak with Leone and Frazzica was at least one hundred meters from the coast overlooking the sea and 200 meters from the beaches. The boat that overwhelmed them may instead have been too close to the coast, which is prohibited by law

The security cameras of Mattarella’s villa, Villa Rosebery, were also acquired, since the girl was hit quite close to where the residence overlooks.
