Giada thrown from the overpass, the cancellation of the wedding, the other and his fake messages

Andrea Favero, accused of the death of Giada Zanola, had sent her a message in the morning, when she was already dead: "Did you go to work? You didn't even say goodbye to us". According to the investigators, he was trying to sidetrack the investigation

BOLOGNA – They should have been married on September 21st, they had chosen the place, ordered the rings and dresses and prepared everything. But then, seeing as they had been arguing for some time and living separately at home, she decided to cancel the wedding. And it seems that she had fallen in love with another, who worked in a petrol station where she too was due to go to work shortly. These are some of the elements that, in the last period, have contributed toincreasing angerin Andrea Favero, the 39-year-old truck driver who two days ago killed his partner, Giada Zanola, by throwing her off the overpass in Vigonza and making it fly 15 metres. It is not yet clear whether the woman was killed before the flight, in some way, or whether she died torn apart by cars and in particular by a truck that was unable to avoid the body: today the autopsy will try to clarify this.

CONTINUOUS ARGUMENTS AND ALSO VIOLENCE

According to the testimonies collected by the Carabinieri after the girl’s tragic end, several friends knew that Andrea had become violent in recent times. He had grabbed her by the neck and bruised her on several occasions. Some witnesses said they had received photographs from her that proved the abuse. Even the neighbors confirmed the constant arguments, for economic reasons or for issues related to the child. She often threatened to take him away and Andrea Favero, in the incomplete and not at all clear reconstruction that he made of the evening in which Giada died, said that she “continued to offend him and blackmail him” by saying that “he would bring my son”.

THE FAKE MESSAGES AND THE ATTEMPT OF MISTRUDENCE

As Corriere della Sera reconstructs, the point that made investigators understand that Favero was guilty is the fact that he was with the woman at the overpass at 3.30 am, but then returned home ( where the Carabinieri found him at 7.30am) leaving her there. He claimed she committed suicide, but also said he had no recollection of when she fell and had “a void”. Between these contradictory stories and the bruises found on his arms (probably from the fight he had with the woman), the Carabinieri realized that the man was hiding something and decided to proceed with the arrest of the suspect for the crime of aggravated murder. The man then also tried to build an alibi and mislead the investigation, sending fake messages to both Giada (“Did you go to work? you didn’t even say hello“) or to a friend of hers, pretending not to know anything about what had happened to her and saying that he understood she was at work. A staging done precisely to exculpate himself and remove suspicion from him.
