Gasparri ‘resumes’ Roberto Salis: “He could be more polite to the institutions”, Ilaria’s father: “From what pulpit”

The president of the Forza Italia senators underlined Salis's failure to thank the institutions for what they did for his daughter

ROME – Back and forth between Maurizio Gasparri and Ilaria Salis’ father, Roberto. The case continues to rock the political scene, especially after the woman was placed under house arrest. The criticism was launched yesterday by the president of the Forza Italia senators who ironically underlined Salis’s failure to thank the institutions for what they did for his daughter: “I understand that Salis’s father must draw attention to his daughter in the electoral maneuver that he started with cynicism and unscrupulousness. But he could be more polite towards institutions that have committed themselves to his daughter’s affair. We hope to be acquitted and to review his type of militancy if he made some mistakes he will also owe it to the fact of having a father like that”, said Gasparri.

“I would like to understand from which pulpit Gasparri allows himself to question my education. I didn’t criticize the government; when I was asked if I recognized the merits of the Italian government in granting house arrest to my daughter, I simply said that I have no evidence of merits on the part of the government. Instead, I have evidence of many demerits and many shortcomings made by the Italian government”, said Roberto Salis, to the microphones of ‘Quel che resta del giorno’ on Radio Popolare.
“In the last period – he added – we had absolutely no help, the government didn’t even make sure that we presented the appeal to obtain house arrest, so it seems strange to me that the fact that they were granted could be attributable to their intervention. I was told that Minister Tajani was shocked by the Hungarian judge’s decision, proving that he evidently knew nothing about the decision taking place in Hungary”.
