BARI – “I was proud to see the leaders of the G7 with their mouths open, but sometimes even less so, for the flavors and the taste”: said the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, hinting at a laugh, speaking of the welcome from Borgo Egnazia and from Puglia to the heads of state and government of the G7.
The prime minister spoke of “identity”, citing cuisine and culture, “panzerotti“, “luminarie” and “taranta” . “It is Puglia as we know it, as especially the Apulians and Italians know it” he said during the conference at the end of the summit. Then she focused on yesterday evening, after a concert by Andrea Bocelli. “The ladies gave bracelets made with olive stones,” Meloni recalled. “The artisans worked the wood of the olive trees that we had to eradicate due to xylella and then there were the tables made with olive wood.”

Meloni continued: “Here we are always capable of reinventing ourselves.” And then: “The theme is that of the global village; with the world’s greats we talk about global challenges but we must remember that we are not able to face these challenges without our identity”.
Meloni concluded: “I think that < strong>several leaders who came here to visit us will soon return to take their holidays in these parts“.
